Obituary for Elsie Yvonne Hulley (Jennings)

In loving memory;

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Elsie Yvonne (Jennings) Hulley, known to all by her middle name Yvonne.

Just shy of her 91st birthday, Yvonne had passed away peacefully at 6:00 a.m. on February 23rd 2021 at Columbia Forest LTD Home where she had resided for the last few years. She was surrounded by caring and compassionate people during her time there and for that we will be eternally thankful.

A Widow of Charles, Yvonne was a loving mother of 5 children; Wendy (spouse Guy) Steven ( spouse Linda) Tracie (spouse Barry) David (spouse Kelly) and her pre-deceased son Kevin who passed away at the age of 6 years old.

Yvonne was a Grandmother to four Grandchildren whom she loved dearly, Jacob, Meagan, Adam and Christian as well as a Great Grandmother to Mackensie and Holden.

Born as the youngest child to John and Annie (Davis) Jennings with pre-deceased siblings, Charles, Jim, Anne, Flo and Nel.

She was born in Liverpool England and joined the R.A.F. at the young age of 17. She would always speak fondly of her time in the service and of her mates that were with her

In 1954 Yvonne immigrated to Canada and married her love Charles.

Her life was filled with giving ballroom dancing lessons with Charles, working as a bookkeeper, and celebrating life all while caring for her children.

Above all else, Yvonne had an incredible passion for reading and referred to her books as her friends.

Over the years she had never lost her love for her homeland England, and the cold Atlantic ocean which she yearned to smell again.

Yvonne was a creative and thoughtful author, who thoroughly enjoyed being referred to as a Wordsmith.

Her stories of her journeys were always fascinating to hear and her memories were always cherished.

We will always have her close in our minds and will forever hold her in our hearts.

She will be truly missed and we will eternally cherish the moments she shared with us.
