Obituary for Gordon Schotkamp
SCHOTKAMP, Gordon
April 18, 1944 – October 9, 2021
Surrounded by his family, Gordon Schotkamp of Kitchener, passed away peacefully at Grand River Hospital – Freeport Campus on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at the age of 77.
Dearly loved husband of Carol (his little orchid) for over 58 years. Loving father of seven beautiful children, Bruce Schotkamp (Karol), Cynthia Robb (Gary), Aimee Robb (the late Russ Robb), Tina Schotkamp, Julie Frey (Donavan), Tara Gilbert (Denis), Nicole Layton (Jamie). Treasured grandfather to 13 grandchildren and a new great grand-daughter, Naomi.
Gord loved Jehovah his God and served faithfully in several congregations of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Ontario. Gord cherished his family very much, thoroughly enjoyed his music and loved playing an occasional game of cards.
A special thanks to all the nurses at Freeport for taking such good care of Gord.
A service of remembrance will be held via zoom at 2 pm on Saturday, October 30th.
One of Gord’s favorite songs was ‘Just Around the Corner’. We will have that special dance in Paradise. Until we meet again, Carol your family and friends.
