Obituary for Gurcharn Singh Khurmi
ਜੇਹਾ ਚੀਰੀ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਤੇਹਾ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਕਮਾਹਿ ।।
ਘਲੇ ਆਵਹਿ ਨਾਨਕਾ ਸਦੇ ਉਠੀ ਜਾਹਿ ।।
With profound grief and deep sorrow, we inform you of the sudden demise of our beloved Sardar Gurcharn Singh Khurmi , 72, of Kitchener, on 8th February.
He is survived by his wife, Bhupinder Khurmi, daughter Simran Khurmi, son Arvinder Khurmi, daughter-in-law Sonia Khurmi and grandson Samar Khurmi.
He was born on 9th April 1948 at Dhuri, Punjab, India. He was a very hardworking and self-made man who charted his path from Chandigarh to Dubai to Canada paving a wonderful life for his family. He was kind-hearted and a very helpful person. He also came with a lot of experience and wisdom where everyone around him looked up to him for his advice and guidance.
He was a doting father, a loving husband and a caring grandfather. He touched so many lives in ways unimaginable. His favorite anecdote was “Live life to its fullest”. He will always stay in our hearts.
The funeral service is scheduled for 10:00 am , on February 12th at Kitchener Funeral Home. Due to COVID the service can be attended by Zoom link. (Please contact family for details)
It will be followed by Antim Ardas at Golden Triangle Sikh Association Gurudwara, Kitchener at 12:30 pm. As per the guidelines laid down by Ontario Government, maximum of 10 people are allowed inside the Gurudwara.
