La (Phonsvat) Moua, 83, passed away peacefully at home in Kitchener, Ontario on Sunday October 30th, 2022 surrounded by her family.

La was born in Luang Prabang, Laos. She married the late Pao Lee Moua and emigrated to Canada in 1980 and raised their children in Kitchener, Ontario. La is survived by her 8 children: Cho (Va Yang) Moua, Paula (Michael) Pickett, Dang (Chiupheng Lo) Moua, Xu (Koua Vang) Moua, Ko (Thay) Vang, Chia (David) Maslen, Dee Moua, Yeng Moua, her 6 stepchildren: Litsan (Julie) Moua, Nou (Danielle) Moua, Pheng (Hang Nguyen) Moua, Sythong (Chua Kaying Xiong) Moua, Payia Moua, Derek (Phoua Khang)
Moua, 21 granddaughters: Maly (Xia Cha) Moua, Samantha Moua, Jessica Moua, Grace Pickett, Marah Pickett, Nyla Moua, Kahli Moua, Seena Moua, Katherine (James) Her, Ashley Vang, Jordan Vang, Madison Vang, Chelsea Maslen, Mikayla Maslen, Cyan Keshwar, Eve Moua, Ellie Moua, Emmi Moua, Estelle Moua, Quinn Moua, Andi Moua, 14 grandsons: Kyle Moua, Tyler Moua, Keenan Moua, Dylan Moua, Evan Moua, Tyson Vang, Jaidyn Keshwar, Caleb Moua, Liam Moua, Eddie Moua, Drake Moua, Troy Moua, Stanlee Moua, Declan Moua, and 2 great grandsons: Nolan Cha and Lennox Cha.

La lived a simple life and wishes to be remembered fondly while she continues her journey to be with her beloved husband. Take  time to reflect on the happy times with her and remember that we cannot change what was, only what can be.  La was happiest when surrounded by family and friends

They also extend a special thank you to Dr. Spadafora of Guelph, Ontario, Bayshore Healthcare Palliative Care team in Guelph, Ontario and to ParaMed Home Health Care Services in Kitchener, Ontario for their wonderful devotion to La and her family while she was in home palliative care.

A Hmong Ancestral funeral service will be held for La Moua on Saturday November 5 th and Sunday November 6 th at Kitchener Funeral Homes & Crematorium 3 Forwell Road, Kitchener, ON N2B 1W3.
