With a deep sense of mourning, Venki’s family announces his passing on August 7, 2022.

He is survived by his wife of more than 50 years, Dorothy; his three sons, Jason (Terah), Keith (Jason), and Kevin (Rochelle); and three grandchildren, Aurora, Matisse, and Dominic. He was in his 82nd year.

Born in pre-independence India, schooled in Madras and Waterloo, Venki built a home and family in Canada after his studies. He instilled his values of education, diversity and inclusion, and integrity in his sons.

He was an accomplished mechanical engineer, holding positions in southern Ontario and the USA. In retirement he delighted in spoiling the family dogs, Emma and Molly. He always made time to engage and laugh with his grandchildren.
