Obituary

Marjorie Ann Basler ( nee Corbett) passed away peacefully with family by her side at Rockwood Terrace On Thursday March 12, 2020.

Born on July 20, 1943 to the late Gordon and Gladys (nee Swinburne) Corbett, Marjorie will be sadly missed by her beloved husband Fred Basler and their 2 children Deborah Basler and Michelle (Matt) Schmitt, all of Durham. Proud Oma to Jesse, Kayla, Kiefer, Gaerret, Lorelei, Madison and Mackenzie. Predeceased by her brother Kenneth Corbett.

Marjorie grew up on a farm near St. Marys but moved to Kitchener after she graduated high school. She met the love of her life at Concordia Club and they were married on June 1, 1963. Marjorie enjoyed volunteering for many years at Suddaby School in Kitchener and went on to open her own floral shop, Be Creative Floral, with her long time friend Jo Ann Lund. Marjorie had a love of gardening and was well known for her wonderful cooking and preserves. Many memories were made in the kitchen or at the table around her great meals. Marjorie will greatly missed by her many friends and family.

In accordance with her wishes, Marjorie will be cremated and buried on her parents grave in St. Marys. A celebration of life will take place at a later date.

A special thank you to the staff at Rockwood Terrace for their wonderful care over the years.

In Lieu of flowers donations to the Alzheimers Society would be appreciated by the family.
